Ryan Thomas Memorial Scholarship
(1 available) - $1,000
In loving memory of Ryan Alan Thomas — a communications student at Arizona State University whose life was tragically cut short at 21 in a drowning accident at Saguaro Lake, despite being an accomplished swimmer. This scholarship honors his vibrant spirit and aspirations.
In his honor, the Ryan Thomas Foundation now partners with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to operate a life jacket loaner program, providing free, day-use life jackets at numerous lakes and rivers across Arizona, including Saguaro, Pleasant, Mohave, Bartlett, Canyon, Apache, and Lake Havasu.
In one of his college assignments, Ryan was asked by a professor where he saw himself in ten years. His answer remains timeless: “I just want to be a good person — good people are remembered.” Today, this scholarship honors Ryan’s memory by recognizing a student whose heart reflects the kindness and generosity he carried throughout his life.
